Social division, racism, and prejudice

Polarization, racism, and prejudice weaken the fabric of Israeli society, deepen divisions between groups, and undermine the dignity, sense of belonging, and security of individuals and communities.

Matzmichim Academy is part of a broad national effort to reduce racism and prejudice, working in partnership with public, governmental, and educational bodies, including the Government Unit for Coordinating the Fight Against Racism at the Ministry of Justice and the Shared Society Division at the Ministry of Education.

We work across a wide range of social and professional settings, including government ministries, professional sports teams, student groups and educational staff, businesses and organizations, IDF units, and more.

Through workshops, training programs, and courses tailored to diverse audiences, we provide practical tools for reducing racism, prejudice, and exclusion; raise awareness of patterns and biases that shape attitudes toward others; and help groups and teams foster norms of respect, inclusion, belonging, and connection across different groups in society.

Stereotypes, prejudice, and racism do not stop at the school gates. They shape interactions among students, affect their sense of belonging, and influence the overall school climate.

At a time of growing polarization, educators play a vital role in creating safe, inclusive, and respectful environments that encourage meaningful connections, critical thinking, and the ability to see others beyond labels and stereotypes.

Matzmichim Academy works in partnership with the Shared Society Division at the Ministry of Education and the Government Unit for Coordinating the Fight Against Racism at the Ministry of Justice. We offer experiential workshops for students and professional development for educators, providing practical tools to reduce prejudice and racism, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and foster a more equitable, safe, and inclusive educational environment.

No Racism in Sports.
Not in the Stands. Not on the Field. Not on the Team.

In recent years, we have seen a troubling rise in racism in sports—through chants from the stands, offensive comments, and harmful posts on social media.

Racism harms not only the players themselves; it also weakens the fabric of Israeli society and contradicts the core values of sport: equality, fairness, and team unity.

Within teams, players from different backgrounds, languages, and cultures come together. Prejudice and racism can lead to tension, exclusion, weakened team cohesion, and even violence.

Matzmichim Academy works in partnership with the Government Unit for Coordinating the Fight Against Racism at the Ministry of Justice, offering workshops for professional teams and representative squads, as well as workshops for sports fans, in collaboration with clubs and public organizations.

Multiculturalism in the IDF – A Challenge, a Responsibility, and an Opportunity,
Workshops for Creating an Inclusive and Tolerant Environment.

IDF units reflect the multicultural diversity of Israeli society. In every unit, soldiers from different communities, languages, cultures, and identities serve together.

A respectful and inclusive environment is not only a value- it is essential to the well-being of every soldier and to a team’s ability to operate with trust, cohesion, and effectiveness.

Unfortunately, recent years have seen a rise in exclusion and racism in Israeli society, which also affects the military. Every year, complaints are filed by soldiers who have experienced offensive remarks, jokes, or treatment based on their culture, ethnicity, skin color, or background.

Matzmichim Academy specializes in group dialogue that reduces prejudice and helps military units build a climate of respect, inclusion, and genuine multiculturalism.
