Impact

Changing social norms.
Building a thriving social climate.

Operates on the basis of a systematic, data-driven change model that has proven effective in improving group climate. Our model is grounded in a sociological approach and focuses on changing group norms through Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and unique facilitation methods.

Based on this model, each year we develop a wide range of responses to significant and complex challenges in Israeli society, including reducing aggression in classrooms, addressing racism, building multicultural connection across groups and sectors, promoting gender tolerance, strengthening resilience in times of crisis, cultivating positive leadership and more.

The field is our laboratory

The Matzmichim model has been shaped

by a rich interdisciplinary foundation,

drawing on insights from multiple fields, including:

  • Nonviolent conflict resolution (AVP)
  •  Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
  • Restorative practices (IIRP)
  • Reputation-based aggression (Prof. Faris, UC Davis, USA)

This theoretical grounding is combined with extensive field experience that includes work with thousands of groups and hundreds of thousands of participants. Our intensive work with diverse populations and audiences serves as a living laboratory, allowing us to continuously refine, adapt, and further develop our method.
